D'Onta Foreman Not A Lock To Play This Year
6 years agoAlthough Houston Texans running back D'Onta Foreman (Achilles) said he's "confident" he'll play again this year, head coach Bill O'Brien isn't so certain. "Can he carry the ball more than two times in a row without having to go get a drink of water?" O'Brien said. "What type of shape is he in?" Foreman hasn't "done anything on a football field" or faced contact since he tore his Achilles almost a full year ago. He had 327 yards and two touchdowns on 78 carries in 10 games last year and was beginning to hit his stride when he was hurt. Foreman can add another "powerhouse" on offense if he can return, according to quarterback Deshaun Watson. He resumed practicing on Wednesday, which opens a 21-day window for the team to activate him from the Physically Unable to Perform list. Foreman is worth stashing in deeper leagues, and he could supplant Alfred Blue as the No. 2 back behind Lamar Miller if he proves he's in good enough shape.
