4 years agoNew York Mets outfielder Dominic Smith is out of the starting lineup for Tuesday's game as the team faces lefty John Means and the Baltimore Orioles. Kevin Pillar is getting the start in left for the game while Albert Almora Jr. is manning center field. The left-handed Smith has only one start against a lefty this year, so it's not a surprise to see him out of the lineup today. He wasn't awful against lefties last year, slashing .283/.391/.509 with two home runs and six doubles over 53 at-bats. However, the Mets still seem to want to avoid lefty vs lefty matchups for Smith at least for now.--Andrew Ericksen - RotoBaller
