Domingo German Lasts Just Three Innings Monday
2 years agoNew York Yankees right-hander Domingo German struggled with command during Monday's contest against the Cleveland Guardians, as he walked five batters in just three innings. He worked around the walks as best he could, allowing two runs (one earned) on two hits while striking out no one, and the Yankees ultimately lost 3-2. German has made two starts thus far in 2023, and his numbers are lacking, as he owns a 5.87 ERA and 22.9% strikeout rate with a bloated 14.3% walk rate and 1.43 WHIP. The 30-year-old has shown signs in the past that he deserves a rotation spot and pitched to a 3.61 ERA over 14 starts last season. He might lose his starting role once Carlos Rodon (forearm) returns, even if he picks it up a bit, but fantasy managers may want to let him loose before that.
