Domingo German Expected To Return Wednesday
5 years agoNew York Yankees starting pitcher Domingo German (hip) retired the first six batters he faced in a rehab start for Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre on Thursday, but he wound up allowing four runs (two homers) in four innings in a no-decision. His velocity was down a bit, but German's breaking ball was impressive and he is expected to return from the injured list and start against the Mets on Wednesday. The right-hander struck out five and walked two on 65 pitches on Thursday. German is 9-2 on the season with a 3.86 ERA, but he had allowed 14 runs in his last three outings before being sidelined. If German was dropped in your league, pick him up now with his return being imminent.
