Dolphins Select Tua Tagovailoa Fifth Overall
5 years agoThe Miami Dolphins selected Alabama quarterback Tua Tagovailoa with the fifth overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft on Thursday. And there it is. The second quarterback is off the board, and although the Dolphins were holding it close to the vest, they ultimately went with Tagovailoa despite all of his injury concerns. A serious hip injury last year dropped him from being the first overall pick in this year's draft, but he still finds his way into the top 10. The Dolphins could give him a medical redshirt year in 2020 while he learns behind Ryan Fitzpatrick. Many evaluators are saying he's a left-handed Drew Brees with precise accuracy, but he'll need to stay healthy to reach his potential. It's a risk/reward pick for Miami, but he should be a solid signal-call at the next level if he can stay on the field.
