Dolphins Not Looking To Get Kenyan Drake Involved More
6 years agoMiami Dolphins head coach Adam Gase said the team will continue "splitting" snaps between running backs Kenyan Drake and Frank Gore. In the blowout loss to the Patriots in Week 4, Drake carried the ball just three times for three yards while Gore had 11 attempts. For the season, Gore has 35 carries to Drake's 33. “These guys are playing the way we want them to as far as the play count compared to what we’re getting,” Gase said. “We’re just not getting enough plays. [Drake’s] snaps should be anywhere from 35 to 40 snaps a game between him and Frank splitting that stuff. But we’re getting 20 to 23 snaps in the game because we’re just not having enough plays in the game.” As the Miami Herald's Armando Salguero points out, it makes no sense for the Dolphins to mothball Drake, their most explosive player on offense, in favor of the aging Gore. But until this changes, Drake is basically unplayable in fantasy.
