Dodgers Give Max Muncy Three-Year Extension
5 years agoThe Los Angeles Dodgers agreed to a three-year, $26 million extension with infielder Max Muncy on Thursday, according to sources. The deal also includes a $13.5 million option for a fourth season with a $1.5 million buyout. The Dodgers avoided heading to an arbitration hearing with Muncy with the extension, and the deal will buy out his remaining arbitration-eligible seasons. The 29-year-old was a first-time All-Star in 2019 when he hit .251/.374/.515 with 35 home runs and 98 RBI in 141 games. He was just as good in 2018, slashing .263/.391/.582 with 35 homers and 79 RBI. Muncy may not hit for a high average, but his left-handed pop in a great lineup and excellent plate discipline and on-base percentage gives him plenty of fantasy appeal in all fantasy leagues.
