Dodgers Give Hyun-Jin Ryu Qualifying Offer
6 years agoThe Los Angeles Dodgers extended a $17.9 million qualifying offer to free-agent starting pitcher Hyun-Jin Ryu, meaning they'll receive draft-pick compensation if he signs with another team this winter. There's a chance the left-hander will accept it after he made just 15 starts in the regular season due to a groin injury. Ryu was great in those 15 starts, though, going 7-3 with a 1.97 ERA, 1.01 WHIP and career-high 9.7 K/9. He's a high-risk/high-reward fantasy commodity that has a better outlook if he stays at pitcher-friendly Dodger Stadium.
