1 year agoThe Los Angeles Dodgers are calling up right-handed pitching prospect Kyle Hurt, who has the highest strikeout rate (14.8 K/9) in the minors this year, according to sources. Hurt has a devastating fastball and gets a lot of swings and misses on his secondary pitches to produce 145 strikeouts in 88 1/3 innings over 25 appearances (16 starts) for Double-A Tulsa and Triple-A Oklahoma City. The team's No. 12 prosect, per MLB Pipeline, will work out of the bullpen at the major-league level. That will limit his fantasy appeal to very deep leagues for his strikeout ratios. The 25-year-old has some of the best stuff in the Dodgers' system and produces high spin rates with his secondary pitches.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
