Dinelson Lamet Pitches Two Scoreless Innings In Return
4 years agoSan Diego Padres starting pitcher Dinelson Lamet made his return to the mound on Tuesday against the Pittsburgh Pirates. He pitched two scoreless innings, allowing four hits and no walks without recording any strikeouts. The short outing was planned as the team aspires to slowly work Lamet's pitch count back up. Lamet made his season debut on April 21, but had an unplanned exit after two innings in that game, then landed on the injured list with forearm tightness. Lamet wasn't at his best in Tuesday's short outing, but it's certainly a good sign for the team that he's back on the mound and appears to be healthy. He should make his next start on Monday against the Colorado Rockies.
