Dinelson Lamet Heads To Dodgers
10 months agoFree-agent right-hander Dinelson Lamet signed a minor-league deal with the Los Angeles Dodgers on Sunday that includes an invitation to major-league spring training. Lamet has really struggled the last two years and has bounced around the league with three different teams. In 2023, he had a nightmarish 11.71 ERA (6.83 FIP) and 2.35 WHIP with 23 walks and 32 strikeouts in 27 2/3 innings over 17 appearances (four starts) with the Colorado Rockies and Boston Red Sox. However, the 31-year-old was much better in the minors with a 2.70 ERA and 1.00 WHIP. Lamet showed some promise in a starting role for the San Diego Padres early in his career, but injuries and control problems have really hurt his cause in recent years. He'll most likely serve as organizational relief depth for the Dodgers in 2024.
