3 years agoThe Arizona Diamondbacks recalled right-handed pitcher Jon Duplantier from Triple-A Reno on Tuesday after they placed starting pitcher Taylor Widener (groin) back on the injured list with a groin strain. Duplantier didn't come out of the bullpen in relief on Tuesday night, but he was available. He's returning to the big leagues after a two-year absence. In his 15 career games at the MLB level (three starts), which all came back in 2019, Duplantier has a 4.42 ERA while striking out 34 hitters and walking 18. The 26-year-old had made two starts with Reno this year, allowing six earned runs on eight hits while striking out four and walking five in seven innings pitched. Despite Arizona's injuries to their pitching staff right now, Duplantier is expected to mainly pitch in relief, leaving him little to no fantasy appeal.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
