Dexter Williams, Jaire Alexander Injured Thursday
4 years agoGreen Bay Packers running back Dexter Williams (knee) and cornerback Jaire Alexander (concussion) were both injured on Thursday night against the 49ers and have been ruled out for the rest of the game. Williams, who was elevated from the practice squad with A.J. Dillon and Jamaal Williams out due to COVID-19, rushed the ball just twice for eight yards before departing. Alexander, the team's top cornerback, left the game after taking a hard hit to the helmet while attempting a tackle. With Green Bay up 31-3 near the end of the third quarter, it doesn't make any sense to rush either player back into the ball game. Williams and Alexander will have extra time to heal up before the Week 10 contest against the Jaguars, although Williams may head back to the practice squad if Dillon and Jamaal Williams clear the COVID-19 protocols next week.
