DeVonta Smith Catches 10 Passes During Week 5 Victory
2 years agoPhiladelphia Eagles wide receiver DeVonta Smith caught 10 of his 11 targets, gaining 87 yards, during the team's 20-17 victory over the Arizona Cardinals. The 23-year-old led Philadelphia in targets and receptions, making impressive grabs and doing a ton of work after the catch to fight for extra yards. Smith played a key role in the Eagles' victory over Arizona as the Cardinals committed to locking down teammate A.J. Brown. It was the third game in the past four weeks that the second-year receiver caught at least seven receptions and gained 80 yards or more. Smith will need to be equally as sharp next week against a stiff Dallas defense, who locked down everyone but Cooper Kupp in their matchup against the Rams in Week 5. Smith should be considered a WR3 in their showdown at home against the Cowboys.
