Devin Williams Converts 18th Save Monday
1 year agoMilwaukee Brewers closer Devin Williams was able to pick up his 18th save of the season in Monday's 8-6 comeback win over the Cubs. Williams came in to pitch the top of the ninth up by two. He got the first out on a groundout, allowed a double, got the second out on another groundout, allowed a walk, and ended the game with a strikeout. The 28-year-old All-Star has notched eight saves in his last nine outings and now has a 1.47 ERA and 11.74 K/9 rate on the season, although his 4.99 BB/9 rate leaves something to be desired. Despite the walks, Williams should continue to serve as a middle-to-high-end fantasy option as long as the Brewers continue to play well.
