6 years agoCarolina Panthers wide receiver Devin Funchess is a healthy inactive for Week 17 against the Saints. With nothing on the line, the Panthers have elected to rest Funchess to close out the year. He faded for fantasy owners down the stretch, but it didn't help that quarterback Cam Newton (shoulder) struggled to get him the ball because of his injury. Funchess will finish with 44 catches for 549 yards and four touchdowns, a disappointment after he caught a career-high 63 passes for 840 yards and eight TDs last year. D.J. Moore and Curtis Samuel will be the top receivers against New Orleans, but they have lower ceilings with rookie QB Kyle Allen likely to start.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
