Devin Asiasi Plays Well In Preseason Finale
3 years agoNew England Patriots tight end Devin Asiasi is not expected to have a significant role in the offense to begin the season. The additions of Hunter Henry and Jonnu Smith have killed any momentum for Asiasi in New England. Despite that, he showed that he is capable of making plays during the preseason finale. Asiasi hauled in four receptions for 64 yards in the win over the New York Giants. A nice outing for him, but that won't change his status on the depth chart. It would take an injury to Smith or Henry for Asiasi to have a legitimate role on a weekly basis. That being said, Asiasi should remain on the radar for fantasy managers. Let's be honest, either Henry or Smith are likely going to be sidelined at some point during the regular season, so Asiasi is the next man in line for snaps. He doesn't need to be rostered right now, but managers should continue to monitor him on the waiver wire.
