Derrius Guice Diagnosed With Sprained MCL
6 years agoWashington Redskins rookie running back Derrius Guice (knee), who was injured in the preseason opener on Thursday, has received an initial diagnosis of a sprained MCL, according to a source. He will undergo another MRI exam to confirm it. This means that Guice is likely to miss a few weeks at least, and he may not be able to return at all for training camp or the preseason. For a rookie, that's bad news and will set him back from a development standpoint. Still, he has the most upside in this backfield and should see most of the touches by the end of the season if he's healthy. In the meantime, it'll give Rob Kelley, Samaje Perine and Chris Thompson extra repetitions.
