Derek Carr Praised By Head Coach
New Orleans Saints quarterback Derek Carr recently drew praise from head coach Dennis Allen. "Quarterback is the most important position on the field, and when you have a highly skilled player, a highly intelligent player, a guy that works the way Derek does, a guy that has the type of leadership qualities that Derek has, that's going to filter throughout the whole football team," said Allen. "I think that gives you a lot of confidence going into the season." Carr, who signed with New Orleans in March after the Raiders released him, finished 2022-23 by throwing for 3,522 yards, 24 touchdowns, and 14 interceptions in 15 starts. He also made the Pro Bowl but completed only 60.8% of his attempts. He worked with Jon Gruden this offseason to improve, so hopefully, it will pay off. At any rate, Carr shouldn't be viewed as an elite fantasy signal-caller, although he could surpass his pre-draft expectations in 2023.
