5 years agoThe San Francisco Giants have optioned pitcher Dereck Rodriguez to Triple-A and recalled outfielder Austin Slater to take his roster spot. Rodriguez began the year in the rotation for the Giants, but was sent down to the minors after eight underwhelming starts. He returned to the club at the end of May, this time in a relief role, and was lit up on several occasions including in his appearance on Sunday. Rodriguez holds a 3-5 record on the season with a 5.27 ERA and just 36 punchouts in 56.1 innings of work. He'll likely return at some point in the second half, but there's nothing here to admire fantasy-wise.--Riley Mrack - RotoBaller
