Dereck Rodriguez Lands On DL
6 years agoThe San Francisco Giants placed starting pitcher Dereck Rodriguez (hamstring) on the disabled list on Thursday with a hamstring strain. He injured himself during a benches-clearing incident against the Dodgers on Tuesday. It's a shame for his fantasy owners, since he was set to face the Reds on Friday. Rodriguez has been great for San Fran this year, going 6-1 with a 2.25 ERA, 1.00 WHIP and 65 K's in 80 innings over 14 outings (12 starts). He deserves to be held in most formats. Casey Kelly will make the spot start against the Reds on Friday. The right-hander has pitched just 6 1/3 innings at the big league level this year but was 10-9 with a 4.78 ERA, 1.42 WHIP and 7.2 K/9 in 23 starts for Triple-A Sacramento. He's a risky streamer.
