Denny Hamlin Begins Eighth For Ally 400

Denny Hamlin was among four Toyota cars in the final round of qualifying on Saturday. He did lose it a bit in a couple of corners and ended up outside on Row 4 for the Ally 400. If anyone remembers last year's race, Hamlin and the No. 11 car dominated. He led 114 laps in all and was right at the top. However, late-run speed and some bad strategy dropped Hamlin to sixth. While he is not on the pole, the driver is in a solid position to contend. Again, it comes down to later in the race. Does the track stay hot enough? When NASCAR was at Gateway, the Toyota's dropped after a gust front came through. Keep that in mind for DFS.
