Dellin Betances Looks Solid In Exhibition
4 years agoNew York Mets relief pitcher Dellin Betances (shoulder, Achilles) looked solid in the Mets exhibition against the Yankees on Saturday. Betances delivered a scoreless inning of work, allowing just one hit. Betances was consistently throwing 92-93 mph, topping out at 95 mph. While the velocity still needs improvement, Betances indicated that he is 100% and ready to begin the season. Betances and Seth Lugo will serve as the Mets setup men in front of closer Edwin Diaz. Betances' effectiveness and fantasy value will hinge on whether he is fully healthy and can reproduce velocities exhibited when he was a Yankee. If he can regain his past form, Betances will be first in line to grab save opportunities if Diaz struggles again.
