Dellin Betances Has Successful Throwing Session
New York Yankees relief pitcher Dellin Betances (shoulder) said it was "a good first day" while making 25 tosses on flat ground at 60 feet on Monday. He had a cortisone injection on April 13 after a bone spur surfaced in his right shoulder. Betances will play catch every other day as he ramps back up, and a return in late June seems reasonable. The hard-throwing right-hander has yet to play in 2019, but he can still be useful in deeper formats despite not being a regular candidate for saves in the Yankees bullpen. Betances had a 2.70 ERA, 1.05 WHIP and 115 K's in 66 2/3 innings (15.5 K/9) in 2018.
