Dellin Betances Beaten In Baltimore
6 years agoHeading into Tuesday’s game against the Baltimore Orioles, New York Yankees reliever Dellin Betances was in one of the finest forms in the league. Across his last 15 games, he’d put forth a 0.63 ERA, striking out 26 batters in 14 innings. While this was not his night, he’s likely to stay in that form moving forward. The 30-year-old would be dealt his third loss of the season, as his ninth-inning got off to an ominous start with a hit batter. After recording an out, he surrendered a deep double, and following an intentional walk and a strikeout, he allowed a walk-off single to end the game. Betances, widely viewed as an All-Star snub, should not be in danger of reverting back to his putrid form of late last season and the beginning of this season.
