Dellin Betances Agrees To Minor League Deal With Dodgers
3 years agoFree-agent relief pitcher Dellin Betances agreed to a minor league deal with the Los Angeles Dodgers on Tuesday, according to a source. Betances pitched just one inning for the New York Mets last year before having season-ending shoulder surgery. The 34-year-old right-hander has tossed only 13 1/3 relief innings over the last three years combined due to injuries, so there's no guarantee he'll make it back to his pre-injury form as a high-leverage bullpen arm. But the Dodgers will take a chance on Betances, who made the All-Star squad in four straight seasons with the New York Yankees from 2014-17. Betances has a 2.53 career ERA, 1.07 WHIP and an impressive 14.4 K/9 in 10 major league seasons.
