Dee Gordon Leaves With Ankle Injury
6 years agoSeattle Mariners second baseman Dee Gordon (ankle) left the game early on Thursday in the top of the ninth inning after rolling his right ankle when he stumbled on second base while trying to catch a throw. He was helped off the field and replaced by infielder Andrew Romine. He was 1-for-3 in the game and is hitting .288 on the year with an American League-leading 26 stolen bases. For a player that relies on his legs for his speed, a lower body injury isn't a good sign. Hopefully for his fantasy owners it's more of a day-to-day injury and not something more serious. With Robinson Cano nearing the end of his suspension, he could take over at the keystone when he's eligible if Gordon is forced to miss considerable time.
