Dee Gordon Lands On DL, Dan Vogelbach Recalled
6 years agoThe Seattle Mariners placed outfielder/second baseman Dee Gordon (toe) on the 10-day disabled list on Tuesday with a fractured right big toe and recalled first baseman Dan Vogelbach from Triple-A Tacoma in a corresponding move. It's a tough break for the injury-riddled M's and fantasy owners, as Gordon was hitting .304 with 25 runs scored, 10 doubles, one triple, one homer, 13 RBI and an American League-leading 16 steals in 45 games. He was hitting .337 with 12 runs and seven steals in his last 20 games. It's unclear how long Gordon will be out, but it's safe to assume it'll be for longer than 10 games. Keep him stashed in all leagues in the meantime. With Robinson Cano also out and suspended, Gordon Beckham could see most of the playing time at the keystone, although he'd merely be a deep AL-only option. In the outfield, Guillermo Heredia should continue to benefit from more playing time. Vogelbach is a power-hitting lefty that could have some AL-only appeal in the short term. With Seattle's best players on the shelf right now, it might be wise to target them when looking for pitchers to stream.
