David Wright In Wait-And-See Mode
6 years agoNew York Mets third baseman David Wright (shoulder) remains in wait-and-see mode on his rehab assignment as the team tries to determine if he can actually help the team down the stretch. His rehab assignment expires in four days and rosters expand on Sept. 1. He has gone 6-for-32 in 10 games with Single-A St. Lucie so far, with six of those hits coming in his last 18 at-bats. Sources close to Wright said there is a real chance he could join the Mets in September. Wright hasn't played in the big leagues since May of 2016 and while this is a good story, fantasy owners shouldn't hold out hope that he can help them to close out the year. Wright should remain on the waiver wire everywhere.
