David Savard Ruled Out Indefinitely
1 year agoMontreal Canadiens defenseman David Savard has been ruled out indefinitely with an upper-body injury. Savard was injured in Monday's 3-1 victory over Buffalo. This is another blow for the Canadiens blue line, which already lost Kaiden Guhle (upper body) a couple of games back. Savard collected his second point of the season Monday via an assist and has tallied four shots on goal, four hits, and 14 blocks with a plus-two rating in five games. He's been partnering with Mike Matheson on the first defensive pairing, and there's a backline shuffle coming up for Tuesday's matchup against the Devils. Gustav Lindstrom has been called up from the AHL on an emergency basis to replace Savard in the lineup.
