David Sandlin Impresses In High-A Outing
4 months agoBoston Red Sox pitching prospect David Sandlin had an evening to remember on Wednesday for High-A Greenville. The right-hander tossed four innings and allowed three hits, two runs, no walks and struck out seven batters. All seven strikeouts came consecutively and tie a career-high in K's in a game for the club's No. 14 prospect per MLB Pipeline. Sandlin has been having a solid season for Greenville with a 4.60 ERA in 29 1/3 innings to go along with 46 strikeouts and a respectable 1.16 WHIP. Sandlin's biggest flaw in his young career has been consistency, but that is something that can surely be worked on in the early stages of his career. For now, he can be ignored, but it wouldn't hurt dynasty managers to keep tabs on him as he rises through the Red Sox system.
