David Robertson's Market Heating Up
6 years agoInterest in free-agent relief pitcher David Robertson is picking up. At least half a dozen teams are showing interest in him. The Mets and Red Sox have been connected to him in recent days, but the Dodgers have also emerged as a suitor. Robertson went 8-3 with a 3.23 ERA and five saves in 69 games with the Yankees last year and has spent most of his career in the American League East, so the Red Sox would be a natural fit. He also lives in Rhode Island. While the 33-year-old hasn't seen many save chances the last several years with the Yanks, he did have a span of three straight seasons with 30-plus saves and would see his fantasy value skyrocket if he was closing games in Boston next year. In LA, he would likely serve as Kenley Jansen's setup man.
