David Robertson Plays Catch Friday
6 years agoPhiladelphia Phillies relief pitcher David Robertson (elbow) played catch on Friday for the first time since going on the injured list April 15 with a strained flexor in his right elbow/forearm. He tossed lightly from 30 feet. "It wasn't bad, but not as good as I hoped," Robertson said. "I hoped it would be 100 percent, and it's not there yet." It's unlikely that the right-hander returns this month. He has struggled in his first year in Philly, posting a 5.40 ERA and 2.10 WHIP with no saves in 6 2/3 innings. There's still a chance he could pitch in ninth-inning situations when he's healthy, but Hector Neris has been the main guy with Robertson sidelined. Keep Robertson stashed in deeper leagues if you need help in saves.
