David Peterson To Make Spot Start Tuesday
2 years agoNew York Mets left-hander David Peterson was officially recalled from Triple-A Syracuse on Tuesday in order to make a spot start against the Cincinnati Reds. Right-hander Max Scherzer (neck, shoulder) was scratched from his start due to neck spasms. If Scherzer is forced to the injured list, Peterson could make more starts in New York's rotation if he fares well in a good matchup against Cincy. Fantasy managers should be wary of rolling the dice on him as a streamer on Tuesday despite the good matchup, as the 27-year-old southpaw has surrendered 25 earned runs on 38 hits while walking 10 and fanning 36 in 30 2/3 innings over his six starts in 2023.
