David Fletcher Was Scratched Thursday
5 years agoLos Angeles Angels infielder/outfielder David Fletcher (shoulder) was scratched from the lineup on Thursday with left shoulder soreness. It's an injury that has kept Fletcher sidelined in a starting role since June 7. He came in as a defensive replacement late in the win on Tuesday and pinch hit on Thursday. Fletcher has been solid in 2019, hitting .306/.361/.432 with four home runs, 23 RBI, 32 runs and five stolen bases in 240 plate appearances. He won't rack up counting stats at a favorable pace but can help with position versatility and batting average in deep mixed and AL-only leagues. He will continue to see most of the starts at shortstop with Andrelton Simmons (ankle) out if he can get back into the lineup. He should still be considered day-to-day, but we expect him to return on Friday.
