David Bote Is Hero Against The Nationals Again Thursday
6 years agoChicago Cubs third baseman David Bote came through against Washington off the bench Thursday for the second straight matchup between the two teams. The last time the two teams met, Bote hit a pinch-hit walk-off grand slam. Shortly afterward, the Nationals started making moves that indicated they were not hopeful for 2018, including a move that sent Daniel Murphy to the Cubs. Thursday, in the first game of a four-game series, Bote came up in the 10th inning with a runner at second base and would double him in before being driven in himself. The Cubs closed it out in the bottom of the inning for the win. The ability to contribute off the bench may be crucial for Bote for the last month of the season. He may get the occasional start but fantasy owners outside of fairly deep formats should be prepared to find someone else to rely on over the last month.
