David Blough Could Compete For Backup Job
2 years agoArizona Cardinals quarterback David Blough could have a chance to compete with Colt McCoy for the backup job this year. And with Kyler Murray (knee) not expected to be ready for the start of the regular season, there's a chance that Blough could see some starts early in the year if he were to beat McCoy out. McCoy is also recovering from an undisclosed surgery this offseason. It's unlikely the Cardinals would add another veteran signal-caller, but they could add a young player at QB in this month's draft. Blough made two starts late last year and went 38-for-58 with 402 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions. The 27-year-old didn't look terrible, but he's also gone 0-7 in his career as a starter in the NFL.
