Dare Ogunbowale Involved As Receiving Option In Week 5
Dare Ogunbowale saved an inefficient running day against the Buffalo Bills with regular involvement in the passing game, hauling in six of seven targets for 57 yards in Houston's 23-20 win. The journeyman running back had a team-high 15 carries, but turned them into just 30 rushing yards. The former Wisconsin Badger saw a higher-than-normal volume of carries due to an injury to starter Joe Mixon (ankle), but his receiving productivity offered some hope he could continue to be involved when Mixon returns. Houston's distribution of carries likely will depend on the injury report prior to a Week 6 game at New England.

Dare Ogunbowale Not A Recommended Fantasy Option In Week 12
Dare Ogunbowale hasn't done much to benefit fantasy managers during the 2024-25 campaign. With Joe Mixon and Dameon Pierce both missing time this season due to injury, Ogunbowale had a chance to get involved, even if it was only for a game or two. Yet, that didn't happen, with the 30-year-old amassing only 25 carries for 68 yards this season. To be fair, he did have a receiving touchdown in the Week 4 victory over the Jacksonville Jaguars. Still, outside of that, Ogunbowale has been non-existent from a fantasy standpoint. Keep him out of the starting line in Week 12 versus the Titans.

Dare Ogunbowale Starts At Running Back In Hall Of Fame Game
Dare Ogunbowale started and recorded 14 yards on three carries while catching two passes for 21 yards on two receptions in Thursday's Hall of Game against the Chicago Bears. Following him, J.J. Taylor gained 16 yards on six carries without involvement in the passing game. Both Ogunbowale and Taylor took the field ahead of Cam Akers, who has been with the team for only a week. As Akers continues to acclimate, he could move up the depth chart. The Texans' new starting running back, Joe Mixon (quad), is dealing with a soft tissue injury that has kept him out of practice. Even if he were fully healthy, Mixon wouldn't have played in the game, and there are no concerns about his readiness for the regular season. The Texans also rested backup halfback Dameon Pierce, which suggests the team considers him a strong candidate to keep his role as the primary backup. Ogunbowale will continue to battle Taylor and Akers this preseason for a roster spot. None have fantasy value without injuries to both Mixon and Pierce.

Dare Ogunbowale Re-Signs With Houston
Dare Ogunbowale agreed to a one-year deal to remain with the Texans. The 29-year-old spent the last two seasons in Houston. He made 29 appearances for the franchise during that span, amassing 50 carries for 158 yards and a touchdown while adding 22 catches for 122 yards. However, most of Ogunbowale's snaps were as a member of the special teams unit, and that likely won't change during the 2024-25 campaign. As a result, he's not expected to see any attention from fantasy managers, especially with Joe Mixon and Dameon Pierce ahead on the depth chart.

Ka'imi Fairbairn Ruled Out, Dare Ogunbowale To Handle Kickoffs
Ka'imi Fairbairn (quad) has been ruled out for the remainder of Week 9 versus the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Running back Dare Ogunbowale is the team's emergency kickoff specialist, and he kicked the ball off to open the second half. It's too early to tell whether the Texans will attempt another field goal or simply pursue fourth-down conversions for the remainder of Sunday's game.
