1 year agoWashington Capitals goaltender Darcy Kuemper was injured in Wednesday's practice when he was hit with a shot in an unpadded area of his leg. Capitals head coach Spencer Carbery didn't have a report on the netminder's status but called the injury "not ideal" while adding he was unsure exactly where the shot struck the veteran. It's another injury setback for Kuemper after he missed games against the Devils and Islanders over the weekend with an unspecified injury. Fortunately, he will get some time to heal from his latest ailment as the 8-4-2 Capitals don't play until Saturday when they host the 4-8-4 Columbus Blue Jackets.--Brenton Kemp
