Dante Pettis, Joe Staley Don't Have Serious Knee Injuries
6 years agoThe San Francisco 49ers are optimistic that wide receiver Dante Pettis (knee) and offensive tackle Joe Staley (knee) aren't facing long-term knee injuries. Both Pettis and Staley suffered injuries in the first half of the Week 4 loss to the Chargers and didn't return. Both players were expected to undergo MRI exams on Monday, but they aren't believed to have any damage to their anterior cruciate ligaments. Pettis hasn't caught a pass since Week 2 and has just three catches on seven targets for 96 yards and a score in the first four weeks. With Marquise Goodwin back and quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo done for the year, Pettis' ceiling has already taken a big hit. He could have to sit out in Week 5 as well.
