Dansby Swanson Prescribed Rest
6 years agoAtlanta Braves manager Brian Snitker said shortstop Dansby Swanson (hand) was prescribed rest and he's not expected to have any long-term concerns. "Talking to the doctors, he just needs rest and time. He just needs to heal and he should be fine. It's just something that will take a while. He'll continue treatment and rest before he actually starts offseason stuff. But they have never expressed any long-term concerns to me. He should be ready for the start of Spring Training," said Snitker. Swanson suffered ligament damage in his left hand and was unavailable in the National League Division Series loss against the Dodgers. He should be fine for next season. Swanson is a rising start at shortstop, although he hit just .238/.304/.395 with 14 homers, 59 RBI and 10 stolen bases for the Braves in 2018.
