Dansby Swanson Has Surgery On Wrist
6 years agoAtlanta Braves shortstop Dansby Swanson (wrist) underwent left wrist surgery to have loose bodies in his wrist removed on Monday. He's expected to report to spring training without any restrictions and will likely be cleared to resume all baseball activities at some point in December. Swanson missed almost two weeks in May with a fatigued left wrist and wasn't on the playoff roster for the NLDS against the Dodgers because of a partially torn ligament in his left hand. Swanson is a defense-first shortstop but hit .238 with a career-high 14 home runs and a .699 OPS in 2018. Because of his hand and wrist problems, he hit just .151 (8-for-53) with a .508 OPS over his last 18 games.
