Danny Willett May See Weekend at British Open
4 years agoDanny Willett has endured a rough three-month stretch since a top ten in the Caribbean. The key for the English golfer this week will be taking advantage of his around the green game (third on tour with over a half stroke gained). If Willett can just drive somewhat decent off the tee and make a few putts, that will ease his mind. If not, this will be a short stay at best. Willett can put a couple of rounds together as he did at The Memorial and last week at the Rocket Mortgage Classic. Anything more than that may be too much to ask.

Danny Willett In Poor Form Heading Into 3M Open
3 years agoDanny Willett heads to Minnesota after finishing 53rd at The Open Championship last week. It was just the second time Willett has made the cut in his past six starts. During that six-event stretch, Willet has lost strokes off the tee and on approach in four of those tournaments. Willett typically thrives at events with windy conditions where birdies are hard to come by. That won't be the case at the 3M Open. His poor form heading into an event that will require players to go low makes Willett an unappealing option in DFS. Despite his low price in DFS, Willett is not playing well enough to be rostered.

Danny Willett Hard To Trust At RBC Heritage
3 years agoDespite showing some signs of life at Augusta last week, Danny Willett will be hard to rely on this week in Hilton Head. Last week's 12th place finish was Willett's first top-20 finish since last April, ironically at the RBC Heritage. Despite coming T18 at this event last year, the Englishman has failed to make the cut in his other three starts at Harbour Town. His game is far too inconsistent to depend on right now, gaining strokes on approach in a registered event just once since last June.

Danny Willett May Have Struggles At Masters
3 years agoDanny Willett had that magical Sunday in 2016 where he stormed the back-nine en route to a 67 that won him the green jacket. Since then, there have been a series of missed cuts and one decent top 25 finish. That weekend was filled with a number of missed putts followed by last year's first two rounds. The English golfer has seen his approaches to the green deteriorate in the last year or two. His -0.3 strokes gained ranks 168th on tour. Around the green, Willett is one of the best. The concern is the length of just 296 yards a drive. As conditions change, that may make things tougher on the Englishman.

Danny Willett Sets His Sights Toward Bay Hill
3 years agoDanny Willett made the cut last week at The Honda Classic. He performed well from tee-to-green, gaining 5.6 strokes in that metric. Willett's putter let him down, though, as he lost 4.4 strokes on the greens last week. Unfortunately, that may not come as a surprise to Willett. The 34-year-old Englishman has lost strokes on average on Bermuda surfaces in his career. Willett will see Bermuda greens again this week at The Arnold Palmer Invitational. Willett has only missed the cut once at this event in five starts. If Willett is going to contend this week, he must have a good week on the greens. It may be wise to fade him this week in DFS.
