Danny Jansen Continues Drought At The Plate
2 years agoToronto Blue Jays catcher Danny Jansen continues to struggle mightily at the plate, which is quite concerning for Jansen's fantasy managers. He hasn't seen much playing time recently and was benched once again in Wednesday's matchup against the Houston Astros. With counterpart Alejandro Kirk making a sizeable contribution at the plate, there isn't much room for Jansen unless his bat can rejuvenate. On the season, the 28-year-old is hitting .097/.200/.097 with a .297 OPS and just three hits. This is quite a disappointing start for the Illinois native, especially if you compare it to his breakout last season. In 2022, the 28-year-old slashed a career-high .260/.339/.516 with a 140 wRC+. Jansen is mostly found in deeper leagues, but if his bat starts to perk up, his fantasy stock could heighten quickly.
