Danny Duffy Shuts Out Astros
7 years agoKansas City Royals starting pitcher Danny Duffy was nearly unhittable on Friday night as he shut down the Astros for six scoreless innings. Duffy allowed only two hits, but he did walk four batters over the course of the outing. He was also bailed out by a couple timely double plays in situations that could have turned out very ugly. Duffy did have a higher average fastball velocity on Friday (95.1 mph) than he has at any other point this season, so perhaps that bodes well for him. Unfortunately, this outing was on the back of a six-inning effort where he allowed six earned runs, so he's still not trustworthy enough to actually start in most fantasy leagues.
