Danny Duffy Limits Indians To One Run Over Five Innings
3 years agoKansas City Royals starting pitcher Danny Duffy had a strong outing against the Cleveland Indians on Thursday. He pitched five innings and allowed four hits, three walks and one earned run while striking out five. The only run he allowed came on a solo home run from Bobby Bradley in the fourth inning. He was in line for the win before the Royals' bullpen crumbled and the Indians went on to win 7-4. This was Duffy's best and longest outing since his return from the injured list in late June. The Royals have been slowly working his pitch count back up. He'll go into the All-Star break with strong season-long numbers, maintaining a 2.53 ERA and 1.25 WHIP.
