Danny Duffy Leaves Game Early Friday
5 years agoKansas City Royals starting pitcher Danny Duffy (hand) was hit by a line drive on his left hand and was forced to leave his start early on Friday against the Tigers. X-rays came back negative, though, and the left-hander was diagnosed with a bruise. The 30-year-old allowed six hits and four earned runs while walking two and striking out three in two innings before he departed in what has to be considered a disappointment against Detroit. Duffy has streaming appeal in good matchups, but he pitches for a bad team and has been very up and down with a 4.64 ERA and 7.42 K/9 in 77 2/3 innings over his 14 starts. It remains to be seen if he'll be OK to make his next start.
