Danny Duffy Gives Up Three Home Runs In Loss To Red Sox
Danny Duffy was plagued by the long ball in the team's 6-5 loss to the Boston Red Sox on Monday. Duffy pitched 3 1/3 innings and allowed five hits, one walk and four earned runs while striking out two. He gave up a total of three home runs in the game. It was a surprising development as Duffy had been doing great at limiting home runs this season. Going into Monday's action, he'd surrendered just two home runs over 44.2 innings on the year. Duffy wound up with a no decision in the game as the Royals did a good amount of damage to Red Sox starter Garrett Richards. Through 10 games (nine starts) on the year, Duffy is 4-3 with a 2.44 ERA. He'll look to bounce back from this rough outing on Saturday against the Minnesota Twins.
