St. Louis Cardinals pitcher Daniel Poncedeleon pitched three scoreless innings in Friday's Grapefruit League game against the New York Mets. Poncedeleon allowed just two hits and struck out four without issuing a walk. He's a candidate for the starting rotation after holding his own in 48 2/3 innings (eight starts) last season. With Miles Mikolas (arm) expected to miss the beginning of the season, Poncedeleon has a chance to earn a starting spot if he can keep pitching like he did in this game. He likely won't be much more than an intriguing DFS option, though.--David A Marcillo
