5 years agoSt. Louis Cardinals starting pitcher Daniel Poncedeleon was optioned to Triple-A Memphis on Wednesday to make room for pitcher Adalberto Mejia on the active roster. Poncedeleon started the year strong as a spot starter for the Red Birds but hadn't gone beyond 3 2/3 innings in his last three starts and has gone six innings in two of his seven starts in 2019. He's sporting a 3.76 ERA, 1.23 WHIP and 44 strikeouts in 40 2/3 frames over seven starts and three relief appearances. There's a chance Poncedeleon makes more starts before the year is over, but he'll only be a deep league streaming option in the right matchups if that happens.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
